Occupational Therapy Group was founded by our principal Occupational Therapist, Rebecca Purvis, who graduated from Charles Sturt University in 1999.
Rebecca has over 20 years of clinical, consulting and community experience in both Australia and the United Kingdom.

Rebecca Purvis

Rebecca has over 20 years of experience working within the disability field in Australia and the United Kingdom since qualifying from Charles Sturt University as an OT in 1999. During her five years in the United Kingdom, Rebecca worked predominantly for the NHS Trust and in private practice, prescribing complex home modifications for children and adults under the Disabled Facilities Grant; a grant set up to pay for essential housing adaptations to help disabled people remain living safely and independently in the community.
Since returning to Australia, Rebecca has worked across many areas of Occupational Therapy practice including acute hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation, community rehabilitation, private practice, injury management and workplace rehabilitation; working with a diverse group of clients with a variety of physical and psychological disabilities.
Rebecca is passionate about helping our disabled community achieve their goals through person- centred, goal- focused and evidence-based practice which led her to expand her private practice to what is now known as the OT Group. Rebecca has additional qualifications in OT driver assessment and rehabilitation and has subsequently added an inhouse driving school to OT Group’s suite of services in order to assist NDIS participants progress their driving goals.

Judy Barker
Area Manager
Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) Lincoln Institute, Victoria;
Graduate Diploma in Ergonomics (University of New South Wales).
Judy is our Melbourne Area Manager with more than 25 years’ experience in the rehabilitation and disability industries. Judy has extensive experience working within the clinical, occupational provider and insurer fields, as well as working in return-to-work focused case management within the NSW and Victorian WorkCover and Comcare schemes and motor vehicle accident schemes.
More recently and over the past few years, Judy has been focussed on supporting our team to maximise the safety and independence of NDIS participants in a variety of community settings. Judy has experience and expert knowledge with clients who have intellectual disabilities, head and spinal injuries, general musculoskeletal and chronic psychological disabilities to assist them to meet their individual NDIS related goals.
Judy’s role as Melbourne Area Manager at OT Group involves leading, coaching and mentoring our Melbourne team of OTs with a focus on OT’s personal and professional training and development, onboarding and induction; assisting to drive safe and sustainable results, achieve NDIS participant’s outcome measures and coordinate quality assurance initiatives.

Jason is an experienced Director and Senior Manager with a demonstrated history of working at the highest levels within retail and health industries. He is skilled in entrepreneurial exploratory business growth, relationship management, high level negotiation, business planning and operational management.
Jason is actively involved in many aspects of the day-to-day and long-term operation of the OT Group, which allows the OT Group to continue to succeed, grow and expand – whilst ensuring the core values and beliefs of the team are still front of mind at all times.
Jason is passionate about the driver assessment aspect of Occupational Therapy and has a passion for assisting drivers regain their independence through mobility.
