Here's the names and the faces that help our large team of Occupational Therapists do what they do best.

Rebecca Purvis

Founder & Managing Director

Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy) Charles Sturt University, Albury;
Master of Business Administration (Executive) RMIT University, Melbourne;

Post-Graduate Certificate (Occupational Therapy Driver Assessment and Rehabilitation) Swinburne University, Melbourne.

Rebecca has over 20 years of specialised experience working within the disability field in Australia and the United Kingdom since qualifying from Charles Sturt University as an OT in 1999. During her five years in the United Kingdom, Rebecca worked predominantly for the NHS Trust and in private practice, prescribing complex home modifications for children and adults under the Disabled Facilities Grant; a grant set up to pay for essential housing adaptations to help disabled people remain living safely and independently in the community.

Since returning to Australia, Rebecca has worked across many areas of Occupational Therapy practice including acute hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation, community rehabilitation, private practice, injury management and workplace rehabilitation; working with a diverse group of clients with a variety of physical and psychological disabilities.

Rebecca is passionate about helping our disabled community achieve their goals through person- centred, goal- focused and evidence-based practice which led her to expand her private practice to what is now known as the OT Group. Rebecca has additional qualifications in OT driver assessment and rehabilitation and has subsequently added an inhouse driving school to OT Group’s suite of services in order to assist NDIS participants progress their driving goals.

Jason Purvis


Master of Business Administration (Executive) RMIT University, Melbourne;

Jason is an experienced Director and Senior Manager with a demonstrated history of working at the highest levels within retail and health industries. He is skilled in entrepreneurial exploratory business growth, relationship management, high level negotiation, business planning and operational management.

Jason is actively involved in many aspects of the day-to-day and long-term operation of the OT Group, which allows the OT Group to continue to succeed, grow and expand – whilst ensuring the core values and beliefs of the team are still front of mind at all times.

Jason is passionate about the driver assessment aspect of Occupational Therapy and has a passion for assisting drivers regain their independence through mobility.

Gina McEntee

National OT Manager

Bachelor of Social Science (California State University) United States of America;

Master of Occupational Therapy (Curtin University of Technology) Western Australia;
Post-Graduate Certificate (Occupational Therapy Driver Assessment and Rehabilitation) La Trobe University / Central Queensland University, Melbourne.

Gina is a highly experienced Senior Clinician who has worked in the field of Occupational Therapy for the past 15 years with varied experience including hospital settings, community rehabilitation, workplace and home assessments and has additional qualifications in occupational therapy driver assessment and rehabilitation. 

Gina is currently responsible for completing OT services, providing clinical supervision to other occupational therapists, conducting strategic case reviews and internal audits to ensure optimal business practices are being provided. 

Gina has a passion for helping our disabled community achieve their goals and engage in meaningful pursuits.   

Judy Barker

Clinical Supervisor / Senior Clinician

Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) Lincoln Institute, Victoria;
Graduate Diploma in Ergonomics (University of New South Wales).

Judy is a Senior Occupational Therapist and Clinical Supervisor with more than 25 years’ experience in the rehabilitation industry. Judy has worked within the clinical, occupational provider and insurer fields and she has worked in return-to-work focused case management within the NSW and Victorian WorkCover and Comcare schemes, motor vehicle accident schemes.

More recently and over the past few years, Judy has been focussed on maximising the safety and independence of NDIS participants in a variety of community settings. Judy has worked with clients with conditions including intellectual disabilities, head and spinal injuries, general musculoskeletal and chronic psychological injuries to assist them to meet their individual NDIS related goals.

Judy also provides formal clinical supervision and development support for junior staff, conducts strategic case reviews and oversees report quality assurance.

Debra Hayward

Clinical Supervisor / Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist and Rehabilitation Counsellor

Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy), La Trobe University (Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences) Melbourne;
Post-Graduate Certificate (Occupational Therapy Driver Assessment and Rehabilitation) Federation University / Swinburne University, Melbourne;
Post Graduate Diploma (Rehabilitation Studies) La Trobe University, Melbourne;
Certificate IV in Community Mediation, Nu Skills, Canberra.

Debra has dual qualifications and significant experience and expertise working as both an Occupational Therapist and Rehabilitation Counsellor, in addition to further qualifications in mediation.

Debra is a Senior Clinician and Clinical Supervisor with more than 30 years’ experience in the rehabilitation industry. Debra has worked within the clinical, workplace rehabilitation and insurer fields, in addition to working in return-to-work focused case management within the WorkCover, Comcare and motor vehicle accident schemes.

More recently, Debra has been focussed on maximising the safety and independence of NDIS participants in a variety of community settings. Debra has significant experience working as a Senior Clinician with clients with a range of physical and chronic psychological disabilities to assist them to meet their individual NDIS related goals.

Debra also provides formal clinical supervision and support to OT Group therapists and mentoring and coaching regarding complex psychosocial assessment and interventions for NDIS participants with chronic mental health disabilities.

Kaye Jones

Clinical Supervisor / Senior Clinician / Paediatric Lead

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, La Trobe University, Melbourne;
Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary), La Trobe University, Melbourne

Kaye has extensive experience as an Occupational Therapist in Australia and the UK across in-patient and community settings, including aged care, palliative care, in-patient rehabilitation, acute, project roles and paediatrics. Kaye has worked in Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS) and has completed additional sensory integration training. Kaye has worked with Melbourne University as a research assistant looking at music therapy and reading interventions for people with dementia. Kaye also works with ACU as a clinical practice supervisor in non-traditional and role-emerging clinical placements.

Kaye thrives on mentoring others and provides clinical supervision to our therapists working in paediatrics.


Hannah Smidt

Practice Manager

Our Bendigo-based Practice Manager, Hannah is one of the first people you may have contact with when referring into the OT Group from Bendigo and the surrounding region.

Hannah is adept at working with our directors and broader team members, ensuring all operational and compliance capabilities are built. Hannah manages the day-to-day operations of the practice, billing procedures and record keeping. 

Hannah focuses on improving client care through evaluating procedures, services and client feedback and she coordinates positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, in addition to ensuring quality service provision.

Chelsea Buttigieg

Office Manager

Cert III Business Administration (Medical)

Our Office Manager, Chelsea is usually the first person you may have contact with when referring into OT Group.

Chelsea has a Cert III in Business Administration (Medical) and is chief organiser, assisting our entire team and key stakeholders with managing new referrals, answering phone calls to assist referrers understand our scope of services, managing our waiting list and generally our go-to for all office management duties.

Chelsea is also the glue that keeps our team together, often organising group lunchtime walks, social occasions and both face to face and virtual get-togethers.
